Leopard and Zebra danios are two different patterned versions of the same species. These fish originate in India and are a member of the cyprinid family which also includes barbs, goldfish and silver sharks. These Danios will tolerate a wide range of temperatures and may be added to temperate or tropical aquariums. They are constantly active and a small shoal of danios may help to bring other more shy species out of hiding.
Due to their shoaling nature, they should be kept in groups. Without the company of their own species, they may become nervous and nip at long finned species. Zebra and Leopard danios mix well with most similar sized fish.
These fish are mid water feeding omnivores. They prefer a variety of foods including daphnia, flake and small pellets. These fish are a shoaling tetra and should be kept in groups of at least six. If you keep even larger numbers, it is more likely that they will express better colours and natural behaviour.
